A Parker PGP640B0700AD1H3NT6T4S–511A027 fixed displacement gear pump is a reciprocating piston pump. This type of pump moves fluid by using a looped, toothed belt or chain that wraps around the outside of two rotating gears. The direction and speed the fluid will travel depends on the size and shape of the teeth on the gears. The rotation of the gears turns an internal piston, which in turn pushes liquid out of one end, at which point it travels down a tube to reach its destination.
